Bio

Gabriele Campani is a solo performing and combo artist (from Duo to Big Band, and everything in between). He's a guitar player, singer, composer and arranger with more than 30 years of professional experience. With a repertoire from blues, jazz, folk, European and American popular tunes, and original compositions; Gabriele plays Music fundamental to the modern evolution of the acoustic guitar and beyond. Full CV.

From traditional to contemporary authors, using different instruments, related to the genre and style performed, with alternative tunings too; a journey along different expressions and feelings. Personal arrangements of jazz standards of Hoagy Carmichael, Duke Ellington, Django Reinhardt, George Gershwin, Carlos Jobim, and classics from the international repertoire (The Beatles, Ray Charles, Paul Simon, Van Morrison). Other amazing musicians are covered like James Taylor, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, and bluesmen like Rev. Gary Davis, Robert Johnson, and guitarists like Jorma Kaukonen, Ry Cooder. Great Italian contemporary composers such as Bruno Martino, Gorni Kramer, Fabrizio De André and some classic authors of the folk and Neapolitan tradition. Personal instrumental Fingerstyle arrangements in all the styles proposed.

Gabriele sings along too, and in different languages: the great majority of the repertoire is in English, but he sings in Italian, of course, and also a little bit in Spanish, Portuguese, and French: "you loose something translating from the original language in which a song was written: the mood is no more the same".
